These Gallery Dept. Carpenter Reworked Flare Pants start as a vintage black duck-canvas work pant with a soft, sun-faded wash. Double-knee panels reinforce the front, and darker black flare panels are inserted from the knee down so the leg opens into a gradual flare.

Each pair is hand-painted, so the splatter varies slightly from pair to pair. White and teal-green paint gathers on the lower legs, with a few flecks of white, green and yellow higher up near the front pocket.

Workwear details stay intact: a carpenter utility pocket and hammer loop at the side, a brass-tone top button with zip fly, belt loops and two patch pockets at the back.

Wear them stacked over boots with a plain tee and a flannel overshirt, or with a hoodie and leather jacket.
